Description
In Argungu, in northwestern Nigeria, the Maten Fada river is no longer teeming with fish as it once was, and migratory birds no longer stop on their journey between Europe and Africa. Located on the edge of the Sahara, Nigeria's Kebbi State is seeing the damaging effects of climate change and human activity. "My fears are, if we continue to do this, life as we know it will cease to exist," says the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES ARRANGED IN SEQUENCES
