Residents of the eastern Sudanese town of Gedaref queue to fill up on water as the city suffers from severe shortages due to constant power cuts. Power stations and energy infrastructure in Sudan have been a regular target of attacks in more than two years of fighting between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). "The main problem facing Gedaref is the water problem, we have water shortages," says resident Haider Mahmoud, adding that "anyone who has access to potable water is charging as much as a thousand pounds per litre".
