Description
The Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation has suspended the license of MV Realty and its owner, Amanda Zachman.
"They would not have the ability to conduct business in the state, to avail themselves to any courts of the state, to do things that otherwise any business would do in...their normal practices. So yes, they really are um exiled from the business community here in Florida," attorney Charles Gallagher said.
The South Florida-based brokerage is currently being sued by the Florida Office of the Attorney General, which alleges the company engages in deceptive and unfair business practices.
Thousands of homeowners across the state who signed up for MV Realty’s Homeowner Benefit Program found themselves locked into 40-year listing contracts that were recorded in public records. The documents act like liens and cloud titles in ways that prevent homeowners from closing important financial transactions, the attorney general’s office has said in litigation.
