9NEWS Weather Impact Meteorologist Cory Reppenhagen captured a tornado near Bennett, Colorado, on Sunday, May 18, 2025. Three tornadoes were spotted across eastern Colorado amid severe weather warnings Sunday, according to reports from the National Weather Service. Tornado touchdowns were reported near Arapahoe Park and Manila Village in Bennett, according to the NWS, and a third was spotted about nine miles north of Strasburg. A 9NEWS viewer reported a roof was taken off a house and several barns were down near Blackstone, by the intersection of East Smoky Hill Road and South Powhaton Road. As of 4:30 p.m., 677 flights were delayed at Denver airport. Southwest and United were the airlines with the most delays. All inbound flights are being held at their airport of origin until Sunday at 4:45 p.m., according to FlightAware.
