Description
A Hernando County K-9 deputy was hurt in a crash Saturday night in the Brooksville area.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of S. Main Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Officials say a deputy that was on proactive patrol saw the driver of a car commit a traffic infraction on South Main Street.
After seeing the deputy's car turn around, HCSO said the suspect tried to speed away from the area and then ran a stop sign at the intersection. That's when the suspect crashed into the rear side panel of a K-9 deputy's car that was traveling on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
