Description
High pressure continues to allow for sunny skies, but it's getting blocked out somewhat by the wildfire smoke from Canada. This haze will continue through Tuesday and Wednesday before a cold front arrives to clear the air later in the week.
In addition to the hazy sunshine, temperature will continue to climb and will include some of the hottest temperatures we've seen so far this year, with highs easily getting into the low to mid 80s Tuesday.
And mid to upper 80s Wednesday. At this point, it's looking like we'll see a few more clouds/haze and it will be breezy, so that should keep temps from getting to 90 or better - but it will still be hot!
Humidity will also be on the rise through the week and by Wednesday, the combination of warmth and humidity may lead to heat index values reaching the lower 90s.
As the heat and humidity builds in, it will also fuel our next chances for rain and storms on Thursday and Friday as a cold front moves through the region.
Scattered showers and a few storms are likely Thursday, with another round likely Friday.
We will dry out and cool down for the weekend to seasonal temps - mid 70s.
