Description
Hurricane Idalia is moving quickly northward and continues to strengthen. The landfall center still looks to be the Big Bend of FL, which thankfully is far less populated and it would be there that the strongest hurricane-force winds would be felt. Of course impacts will be widespread across much of the peninsula. The storm is expected to weaken as it continues inland toward eastern GA and possibly SC. After that, most models keep the remnants in the Atlantic. However, there are a few ensemble members of the GFS which take the remnants into the Gulf late next week. Far too soon to know if that would happen and if so, what would...if anything...develop. The runs that do bring it back to the Gulf maintain it just as a wave and rain-maker. Stay tuned!
