Deep in the mountains of Turkey's southeastern Hakkari province, bordering Iran and Iraq, Kurdish livestock owners and farmers have gradually returned, together with their animals, after decades of armed conflict between Kurdish militants and the Turkish army. But the mountains are a hard, hot environment for making a living, and 37-year-old Mahir Irinc worries his generation of farmers might be the last.
