The Fourth of July in 1977 brought a wholesome community celebration to the Park Cities. A small-town parade with flag-waving kids, golf carts, antique cars, and a colorful finale of bicycles filled Preston Road. Channel 8's Becky Hartman also stopped by Keys Park, where families gathered for picnics, basketball, and moonwalks during the JC-sponsored event.
