A man is dead after being shot by a Houston police officer in southeast Houston. Police say the suspect fled a burglary on Waltrip Street and was later confronted by an officer at a separate location on West Belfort. The suspect allegedly refused to lower his weapon, leading to the officer firing. The suspect died at the scene. The officer has been placed on administrative leave while HPD investigates.
