U.S. President Donald Trump answered questions from reporters early Friday at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. He had just landed at the base near Washington, returning from an event in Iowa. He discussed tariffs, saying letters will be sent to countries around the world, starting Friday, notifying them about the status of the U.S. tariffs that they will face. "We'll probably have 10 or 12 go out tomorrow," he said. "And over the next few days, I think by the ninth they'll be fully covered and they'll range in value from maybe 60 or 70% tariffs to ten and 20%, tariffs. But they're going to be starting going out sometime tomorrow." Trump also said countries will begin paying the new tariff rates from August 1. "The money will start to come into the United States on August first," he said.
