Description
One person was injured after an early morning fire Friday at a home in Longmont. The fire started at a home behind a business on Highway 119 and County Road 7 just before 3:40 a.m., according to Mountain View Fire Rescue. Crews arrived on scene and found the home fully involved, Mountain View Fire said.
It took crews 20 minutes to get the fire knocked down and several hours to put the fire out due to the amount of combustible materials inside, according to Rick Tillery with Mountain View Fire.
Six people were inside the home when the fire started, according to Mountain View Fire. Several people were evaluated at the scene of the fire. One person was taken to the hospital with burn injuries.
The American Red Cross of Colorado and Wyoming responded to the scene to assist the residents. Investigators are trying to determine how the fire started, according to Mountain View Fire. Crews with the Mountain View Fire, Frederick Firestone Fire, and Weld County Sheriff's Office responded to the call.
