Description
A Florida deputy had to crash a pool party when an "uninvited guest" slithered its way in.
In a post on X, Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno shared a video showing a deputy catching a ball python at a pool party in the Lehigh Acres area.
"That's a python!" the deputy said at the beginning of the recording.
The deputy is seen grabbing the snake from behind a cooler as people in the background can be heard panicking at the sight of it.
"See, he's not trying to bite. No, nada," the deputy said calmly.
There was even a bit of humor exchanged as the deputy motioned the python towards one of the guests, suggesting they hold it, before both of them laughed.
"Want to pet him?" the deputy asked.
"No," the guest responded.
The end of the video shows the python being safely placed in one of the coolers.
In a post on the LCSO Facebook page, new photos showed the python with a sergeant from the Animal Cruelty Task Force, who adopted the snake.
"From rescue to roommate!" The post reads. "Proof that not all heroes wear capes… some adopt snakes."
