Description
More than 1,300 portraits of relatives and families of road accident victims cover the roadway of the Pont d’Iena at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, drawing the gaze of curious tourists.
“This is a collective work that makes the invisible visible -- those who remain,” said Thomas Alleno, a member of the Antoine Alleno association, which partnered with artist JR to bring the project to life. Families say the installation highlights how they are often “completely forgotten by society” despite carrying the weight of loss. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
