Freedom of speech is enshrined in the First Amendment of the US Constitution, yet the recent cancellations of shows hosted by American comedians Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel - the latter for a comment he made about the death US conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, - was blasted by critics as government censorship.
