Description
In Paris, customers wait outside a specialised shop for the eagerly anticipated release of the latest Pokémon "Mega Evolution" cards, which has been delayed due to supply issues. Over the past year, more than 10 billion Pokémon cards have been printed worldwide. While cards are becoming scarce in stores, they are proliferating online: on the live auction platform Whatnot, enthusiasts like Rémi Isaac, known by his username "poké_tls" [Pokémon and Toulouse, editor's note], now make a living from their passion. "It's a mix of Twitch and eBay; we sell via live-stream auctions," explains the seller, who earns around €2,000 per month from his live shopping sessions.
