President Donald Trump says he will target "only" programs favored by Democrats.
The president continued his threat against Democrats amid the shutdown standoff, saying in a Cabinet meeting Thursday that only government programs favored by Democrats will be targeted.
"We're only going to cut Democrat programs," Trump said. He added: "We're going to give them a little taste of their own medicine."
Noting Schumer's comments to Punchbowl News arguing that "every day gets better for us," Trump retorted that "no, it's actually getting worse for them."
