Description
Indiana University in Bloomington has its fair share of iconic symbols, like the trident and Sample Gates on campus.
But the Hoosiers have been missing one thing for over 50 years — a mascot.
Back in 1965, a student-led group picked their school's mascot as "Hoosier the Bison," inspired by the bison on Indiana's state seal. Just after four years of having a mascot though, Hoosier was retired.
