Get ready to see more orange cones on the road in Indianapolis. DPW officially kicked off construction season Thursday, announcing $268 million in investments across the city. The projects are aimed at improving roadways, stormwater systems and pedestrian infrastructure. “It is an exciting time for the city of Indianapolis,” DPW Director Todd Wilson said. The investment will fund a wide range of projects throughout Marion County. City leaders say residents can expect to see 133 lane miles of new asphalt laid down by the end of the season, along with 15 additional miles of bike lanes, over 30 miles added to trail systems, about 15 miles of new sidewalks and much more.
