IMPD is investigating after an early-morning shooting left one man dead early Thursday morning on the south side of Indianapolis. It happened around 12:30 a.m. May 1 in the 8000 block of Madison Avenue, which is near Stop 11 Road. According to an IMPD spokesperson, officers were called to a report of the shooting. When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot. The gunshot victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, but he died a short time later, IMPD said.
