Description
It was a day of long debate on the House floor at the Indiana Statehouse Wednesday afternoon over Senate Bill 1, the bill to make changes to property taxes in Indiana.
Several Democratic lawmakers offered amendments to the bill, but all of those amendments failed.
A final vote on SB 1 could come Thursday, April 10.
Gov. Mike Braun released a statement saying he supports the plan, but some Hoosier veterans are pushing back on parts of the bill they believe could impact them in a negative way.
The outcry from disabled veterans against SB 1 has been pretty loud. The American Legion Department of Indiana has asked disabled veterans to contact their lawmakers and Braun to say the House version of SB 1 is not the way to help disabled veterans in Indiana.
