Description
After a weekend of rain and flooding, the rivers surrounding Columbus appear to be reaching their peaks.
“I haven't seen nothing like this since in 2008 when they had the big one then,” said Roger Montgomery, who was out Sunday, April 6 walking his dog, Skipper, at Mill Race Park.
The park, which sits just east of the Flat Rock River, was nearly completely underwater. The river crested at 16 feet on Sunday, reaching moderate flood stage. The East Fork of the White River in Columbus reached major flood stage, cresting just over 17 feet on Sunday.
