Thad Elder admits, he doesn't always go to the doctor.
"If something doesn't kick me or beat me down, I don't go to get checked out, but I think that's the nature of the beast for men," Elder said.
But in late 2020, Elder suffered an injury that led him to have routine blood work done.
While those results revealed some red flags about his health, Elder says his doctor at Franciscan Health also recommended he get a routine colonoscopy.
