IMPD is investigating after a person was critically injured in a shooting near a motel on Indianapolis' south side Wednesday morning. The shooting was reported shortly before 7:30 a.m. March 12 in the 4900 block of South East Street, near Thompson Road. Responding officers located a gunshot victim who was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, a department spokesperson said.
