Description
Fans of "Breaking Bad," "Ozark" and "The Wire" are sure to love Apple TV+'s new crime drama series.
Based on Dennis Tafoya's 2009 book, "Dope Thief" follows Ray and Manny (Oscar and Emmy nominee Brian Tyree Henry and Golden Globe nominee Wagner Moura), two best friends and delinquents posing as DEA agents to steal and then sell drugs. Unbeknownst to them, they are now fighting for their lives after one robbery gone wrong.
"These characters are very real. Day by day, they're really fighting for their lives, so you have to just show up and be very present with what that is. I found that I was bringing a lot of my own personal experiences in my life to this show," said Henry ("Causeway," "Atlanta"). "In this show, it gave me a place to release it and just lay it down because at the end of the day, I really wanted Ray to be OK. I really wanted Ray and Manny to know that there was something more for them."
New episodes of "Dope Thief" are released Fridays through April 25 on Apple TV+.
