Description
Ensemble crime comedies don't get much starrier than "Riff Raff," with Jennifer Coolidge, Bill Murray, Ed Harris, Gabrielle Union, Pete Davidson and Lewis Pullman.
Vincent (Harris) is an ex-criminal who is looking for a normal, peaceful life with his wife, Sandy (Union), and their son, DJ (Miles J. Harvey). Mayhem begins when Vincent's estranged son, Rocco (Pullman), his girlfriend, Marina (Emanuela Postacchini) and Vincent's ex-wife, Ruth (Coolidge), spoil a family vacation with the news that notorious gangsters Leftie (Murray) and Lonnie (Davidson) are coming for them.
"This is why I thought John Pollono wrote such a good script because it was about being locked into an era of when everything was going good, and then, it starts to go bad," said two-time Emmy winner Coolidge ("The White Lotus," "Legally Blonde"). "A lot of people in this movie are trying to fix things, and my character is loaded a lot of the time, so it's impossible for me to fix things."
Union ("Bring It On," "Bad Boys II") highlighted her scenes with Coolidge as the current wife vs. ex-wife of Harris' character.
"She's a comedic genius, but she's a legend for a reason," Union said. "She keeps you on your toes. She may ad lib, she may shift something and you have to be in your character, in your body, and ready to go no matter what she throws at you. It was a challenge but also really fun."
"Riff Raff" is now in theaters.
