Multiple investigations are underway after a shooting involving IMPD officers on Indianapolis' near east side early Tuesday. IMPD Chief Chris Bailey said around 6:15 a.m. Feb. 25, a suspect shot by an officer had been pronounced dead at a local hospital. No officers were injured. The incident began around 2:15 a.m., when officers responded to a report of a woman who had been assaulted in the 1600 block of East Washington Street, near North State Avenue.
