Description
There is growing concern about homelessness in the Garfield Park Neighborhood that neighbors say is triggering a public safety crisis.
13News received reports of fires, fights, break-ins, vandalism, trash, drug use and weapons.
“Since we are by Pleasant Run, we definitely notice an increase in the individuals that are unhoused around here. Seeing things like public urination, defecation, bathing and that’s when things started getting really scary,” said Kathryn Kittaka. “Even seeing things like drug overdoses, needles thrown in my yard and on the trail.”
