Description

A sergeant with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has been arrested and charged with theft. According to a release from IMPD, around 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, officers responded to the 4800 block of Southport Road, which is listed as the Southport Plaza shopping center just off Interstate 65, for a shoplifting investigation. When officers arrived, they discovered the suspect was 17-year IMPD veteran Sgt. Sara Lamkin, who was off-duty at the time.
