Description
We're getting a first look at the findings from a community group working to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety on the north side of Indianapolis.
For years, advocates have wanted to make it easier for people on foot and on bikes near 86th Street and the Monon Trail.
In 2024, volunteers launched a tactical urbanism project, bumping out curbs and adding rumble strips and yellow bollards.
They tracked speeds and traffic violations in the area and developed a plan to curb dangerous behaviors.
