Description
A woman was killed and a man was seriously injured in a crash involving two pickup trucks in eastern Indiana over the weekend.
The crash was reported around 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at the intersection of South U.S. Highway 27 and State Route 122, roughly seven miles south of Richmond in Wayne County.
First responders found a Chevy pickup truck and Dodge pickup truck in a field southwest of the intersection.
The passenger in the Chevy, identified by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office as 60-year-old Nannie Byrd of Manchester, Kentucky, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 68-year-old man also from Manchester, was flown from the scene to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, with "significant injuries," police said.
