An Indianapolis man is charged with murder and feticide in the death of a pregnant woman on the city's south side.
Regulus Baka, 22, was arrested by a SWAT team while sleeping in his parents' apartment in Greenwood. He is charged with killing 19-year-old Sha'Naiya Nicole McDonald in her apartment in the 7800 block of Ella Dobbs Lane, near Madison Avenue and East Stop 11 Road.
Neighbors say screams for help could be heard coming from an apartment around 4 a.m. on Dec. 30, 2024. Inside, police say they found McDonald's body bloodied, with tape wrapped around her face.
An apartment manager told police her staff found a cellphone in a dumpster, near a laptop — both belonged to McDonald. According to information on the cellphone, McDonald apparently invited Baka to her place the night she died.
