Description
It is the last day of 2024, and it looks like we are ending it on a soggy note in Indiana.
Rain will fall during the day as a deep area of low pressure tracks across the area and gives us up to a half inch of rain today. Our temperatures will slowly fall into the afternoon and by the stroke of midnight tonight, we could see a little rain/snow mix and certainly a chance for very wet roads tonight and into tomorrow morning. Highs will top out in the 40s today but drop most of the afternoon.
2025 will be marked with falling temperatures and a major cold wave in the United States.
By the weekend, we will be seeing highs only in the 20s with the possibility of snow coming in Sunday! We agree with the National Weather Service that it is way to early to talk about snow accumulations.
It is best to, at this point, not focus on any of the model accumulation maps you may see on social media. There are a lot of uncertainties about these models right now.
