WTHR is proud to be part of the Riley Children's Foundation's year-end giving campaign. Riley Children's Hospital is one of the top hospitals in the country, serving over 57,000 patients each year. Twelve-year-old Lucy Beyers is one of them. When Lucy was 9 years old, doctors at Riley installed a pacemaker in her young heart. "I was born with a heart condition called heterotaxy, so basically when I was born, my heart was broken, so I had a heart surgery and an intestine surgery," Lucy said. The one constant in the Beyers family since Lucy's birth has been Riley Children's Hospital and its doctors, and mom Courtney could not be more thankful.
