The CEO of UnitedHealthcare was fatally shot Wednesday morning in New York City in what authorities believe was a "targeted attack." The New York City Police Department said 50-year-old Brian Thompson was shot just before 7 a.m. outside the Hilton hotel on 54th Street in midtown Manhattan. Investigators said the gunman appeared to wait for Thompson for several minutes. The NYPD said when Thompson approached the hotel, the suspect approached from behind and fired several rounds. Thompson was hit at least once in his back and once in his calf, police said.
