Description
Several young adults in central Indiana who were once in the foster system will soon have some of the essentials they need heading into winter.
Volunteers at Marian University packed hundreds of winter kits Tuesday, Nov. 19 at the Foster Success office. The kits include a warm hat, gloves and a scarf, plus some hot chocolate and other items they may need.
The program is part of Foster Success' Friendsgiving campaign. Foster Success works with foster youth who are between the ages of 14 and 26, offering them financial support, one-on-one social support and emotional support.
The kits will go to college students enrolled in Indiana's Education and Training Voucher program. The program helps young adults who were once in foster care pay for and go to college.
