Description
Security video shows the aftermath of a car driving into a group of people in a parking lot outside a bar on the west side of Indianapolis early Saturday morning.
The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Oct. 19 in the 5700 block of West Morris Street, near West Washington Street and Interstate 465.
When officers arrived, they found a man with traumatic injuries lying in the parking lot of a business. The man was taken to an area hospital by medics in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 40-year-old Perry Banks.
The owner of the bar says an argument happened inside, but it seemed to have deescalated.
He says the next thing he knew, a car was driving through his parking lot trying to hit people.
IMPD said they learned the incident was an "intentional act" by the suspect, and the IMPD Homicide Unit was contacted to respond to the scene.
