Description
Residents got the chance to ask questions about IndyGo's new Purple Line Monday.
The rapid transit line extends more than 15 miles between Indianapolis and Lawrence.
The route runs up Capitol Avenue, over to Meridian Street and up to 38th Street before heading up Post Road to Fort Ben and Ivy Tech.
IndyGo hosted an event Monday, Sept. 30 at the Fort Ben library branch so people could get answers before all that happens.
IndyGo leaders say the Purple Line is about more than travel.
"The Purple Line replaces, like what I said, one of our most-ridden routes, Route 39, but it goes through an area that has been overlooked for a really, really long time, and so not only is it better transit, but it's infrastructure improvements, it's economic development, it is all the things that come with bus rapid transit," IndyGo's Jordan Patterson said.
Purple Line operations start Sunday, Oct. 11.
