The Los Angeles Fire Department has rescued 31 workers who were trapped in an industrial tunnel. The tunnel collapsed about five to six miles from the entry point. Authorities say those workers were able to climb over a 12- to 15-foot-high pile of loose soil to reach co-workers on the other side. They were then taken to an access point to be freed. More than 100 first responders were deployed to the area to help with the rescue efforts, using cranes and rescue cages to hoist the workers out of the tunnel.
