Description
Two days, eight people shot — six of them dead. All separate incidents, but part of a violent weekend across Indianapolis.
Like a skipping record, iterations of the same phrase echoed at crime scenes across the city: "This is unacceptable."

"That's what we want to continue to see, and that could not be possible without the community," IMPD Ofc. Tommy Thompson said.
IMPD says criminal homicides are down almost 30% and nonfatal shootings are down almost 15% compared to this time last year. But even with the downward trend, police say it inspires an honest look in the mirror.
"It bears down. We're the capital city and we expect ourselves to do better," Thompson said.
