While the Indiana Pacers' season didn't end like many hoped, there were many economic benefits to their playoff run.
That nine-week playoff stretch featured 11 home games. One of those games made history for the city.
"On May 24, the same day as the Indy 500, as well as Game 4 of the conference finals, we experienced the best day on record for hotel demand in our city's history," said Clare Clark, senior communications manager with Visit Indy.
Hotel rates were also boosted during the Pacers' home playoff games. According to Visit Indy data, downtown Indianapolis hotels had a 34% higher rate during those games, compared to the U.S. average. Visitation to downtown attractions during those games was also up 14% compared to 2024. Clark said all key tourism indicators were elevated during the playoff stretch.
