Description
Flora, Indiana, is approximately 65 miles northwest of downtown Indianapolis.
That's where United States Air Force pararescueman Chase Meade lives with his wife and three kids.
"I've lived in five different states since I moved away in 2013, and I've always wanted to come back to Indiana. People will ask why, and it's that small-town feeling. Everything's a little bit slower, and you can take things in and really appreciate where you're at. I've loved Indiana forever," Meade said.
Meade traveled to Las Vegas to compete in the 17th season of "American Ninja Warrior."
"I had an experience where I was stationed at Moody Air Force Base, and they brought in – it wasn't 'American Ninja Warrior.' It was something close to that – but I loved it. I tried out for it. Unfortunately, I had to deploy, so I couldn't compete at the next level," Meade said. "In San Antonio, I was an instructor down there, and there's a run coach that has been on the show several times. After we got to talking, he steered me in this direction, and then, we submitted a video, and it got accepted. I'm just very fortunate for the opportunity to be on there and compete."
Meade's qualification round airs Monday, June 23 at 8 p.m. ET on WTHR Channel 13.
