​Flora, Indiana, is approximately 65 miles northwest of downtown Indianapolis. That's where United States Air Force pararescueman Chase Meade lives with his wife and three kids. "I've lived in five different states since I moved away in 2013, and I've always wanted to come back to Indiana. People will ask why, and it's that small-town feeling. Everything's a little bit slower, and you can take things in and really appreciate where you're at. I've loved Indiana forever," Meade said. ​Meade traveled to Las Vegas to compete in the 17th season of "American Ninja Warrior." "I had an experience where I was stationed at Moody Air Force Base, and they brought in – it wasn't 'American Ninja Warrior.' It was something close to that – but I loved it. I tried out for it. Unfortunately, I had to deploy, so I couldn't compete at the next level," Meade said. "In San Antonio, I was an instructor down there, and there's a run coach that has been on the show several times. After we got to talking, he steered me in this direction, and then, we submitted a video, and it got accepted. I'm just very fortunate for the opportunity to be on there and compete." Meade's qualification round airs Monday, June 23 at 8 p.m. ET on WTHR Channel 13.
