A 17-year-old is dead and one person is injured after a shooting Saturday night in Kokomo. The Kokomo Police Department said Howard County dispatch received a report of a shooting in progress in the area of Studebaker Park just after 10 p.m. Saturday, June 14. Police said the area was crowded with people due to an annual motorcycle event. Kokomo Police, ISP and Howard County Sheriff's deputies arrived on scene and found a 17-year-old male suffering from a single gun shot wound. Police said he was taken to a local hospital where he later died. Police said a female victim was also found with a "superficial wound," but refused medical treatment and was released.
