Description
People in Douglas County voted in a special election Tuesday on the first step to becoming a home rule county, which would give the Republican county commissioners more power.
The first round of results released just after the polls closed at 7 p.m. show 28% voted YES and 72% voted NO. The county's website shows more than 81,000 voters turned in their ballots. A majority were unaffiliated.
