Description
In June 2025, Netflix acquired the U.S. rights to a yet-to-be-released thriller TV series called "The Hunting Wives," which was originally intended to air on STARZ, according to Deadline.
A month later, the eight-episode first season – co-produced by Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment – was released on the streaming giant and became an instant success.
"I remember the day that (showrunner Rebecca Cutter) called me. I was with a friend having a work meeting or something, and I was crossing the street, and I'm literally like in the middle of the street, and the phone rang — it was Rebecca. I said, 'Hey, what's up?' And she goes, 'We're going to Netflix.' And I literally like, I think I almost caused a car accident like, oh my God. It's winning the lottery," said actress Jaime Ray Newman ("General Hospital," "The Punisher"), who plays Callie, wife of the sheriff (Branton Box) and member of the Hunting Wives.
"The Hunting Wives," based on May Cobb's 2021 book, follows Sophie (Brittany Snow) as she moves from Boston to Texas with her husband (Evan Jonigkeit) and young son (Emmett Moss). As she settles in, Sophie befriends an affluent group of women known as the Hunting Wives, led by the seductive Margo Banks (Malin Åkerman). And yes, all these women have dark secrets.
"The Hunting Wives" is now streaming on Netflix.
