Fire crews in Colorado are responding to multiple wildfires burning across the state. Gov. Jared Polis (D) issued a disaster declaration on July 13 for five wildfires burning in several of the state's counties, activating the State Emergency Operations and Resource Mobilization Plans. According to the governor's office, the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) coordinates the state response through management of the State Emergency Operations Center and deploys field operations staff to support county emergency managers in their efforts to manage the consequences of the fires.
