A man identified as a suspect in a deadly carjacking in Louisiana died in Houston after running into traffic on Beltway 8, according to authorities. The chain of events began on Friday, around 11 a.m. in Calcasieu Parish, when Louisiana authorities said a Lyft driver was found dead in a ditch. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators said Lawanna J. Lewis, 62, of Lake Charles, was shot in the head multiple times. They said Lewis was working at the time of her death and her car was stolen.
