As of late morning Thursday, we have Invest 91-L in the central Atlantic. This means the wave hurricane forecasters have been tracking is now more organized, and we can actually get an idea of the forecast track. Will Invest 91-L impact Florida or the U.S.? It is still too soon to know the exact track, but it looks as though this system will push west through the weekend into next week, approaching the Lesser Antilles by mid-week next week. If you have travel plans next week to places like the Bahamas, US Virgin Islands, or Puerto Rico, you'll need to watch the forecast carefully. In terms of any U.S impacts, it is too soon to tell, but this system has the potential to get close to the Atlantic coast the week after next (the week of Sept.15-19). We will continue to monitor this wave and any other tropical development to come.
