A well-known west Indianapolis skating rink at the center of several shootings and fights in the past is seeking a permit to serve alcohol. Skateland, near 38th and High School Road, is asking the state Alcohol and Tobacco Commission for a beer wine and liquor license. "It would allow our parents, that want to come in and spend time with their kids, and they spend that money for birthday parties," said manager James Wilson. "I think that it would further allow them just to further enhance their experiences while they're there with all the kids that are in the building."
