Indiana State Police is investigating the death of the 10-year-old daughter of a Delaware County sheriff's deputy.
The girl was found around 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14 in the 10000 block of East Jackson Street in Selma, Indiana, which is approximately 7 miles east of Muncie. The Delaware County Sheriff's Department confirmed they were conducting a death investigation, which was later turned over to state police.
Delaware County Coroner Gavin Greene confirmed to 13News the girl who was found dead was the daughter of a Delaware County sheriff's deputy.
Early Friday morning, Aug. 15, an ISP spokesperson confirmed the 10-year-old, who has "a documented lifelong medical condition," was found dead.
An autopsy will determine the official cause and manner of the child's death, but state police say it does not appear to be suspicious at this time.
